Interest Groups

Get Involved and Have Fun : Study/Interest Groups

Along with our commitment to the goals of our mission, many members of our branch participate in one or more Study /Interest Groups. The Legacy newsletter provides information about the regular monthly topics and locations. Generally, these meetings are held from October through May. Individuals may attend groups regularly or visit when there is a topic of particular interest. The Study/Interest groups are social in nature and welcome new members or visitors throughout the year.

It is generally a good idea to call the hostess and let her know that you plan to attend so that there will be enough seating and goodies. New experiences, connections, and friendships grow in the fellowship of these groups.

Book Sale Teams

These groups meet at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) on Ford Rd. east of Greenfield and prepare year-long for our annual used book sale fundraiser held in September. Donated books are sorted by category, carefully packed, then stored under the bleachers until the time of the sale. Teams meet almost every week, except during holidays. No really heavy lifting or moving of boxes to be stored is required because we are assisted by court appointed community service workers. Members with iphone skills are needed to help price vintage or special editions. Each group lunches together once a month.

Work-time for both groups is from 9:30-11:30 am.
