Book  and Media Donation Guidelines

Book and/or Media Donation Open Now!  The Book Sale Donation Collection Drop-Off at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center (DISC) will be accepting community donations starting on January 5, 2026 and all Mondays  from 10:00 am-12:00 pm  until further notice.  Pull up to the front door and follow the directions on our sign.   The  address is 14900 Ford Rd Dearborn MI 48126.

Before you make a donation…We accept books for all ages and interests in over 20 categories along with media items in good sellable condition.    That includes fiction and non-fiction,vintage books, literary and science collections, foreign language books, vinyl records, CDs, DVDs, sheet music, comic books, graphic novels and more. We do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, or textbooks over 3 years old.

Volunteer Opportunities for Members and Community 2026

AAUW-D Members and  area adults interested in volunteering may join our Book Donation Team that includes sorting donations at our work space at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center. Tasks relate to sorting , pricing books, boxing books by category. No heavy lifting is required. The work schedule is typically on Mondays from 10:00 am until noon, but additional shifts on other days may be arranged. 

Adult non- members are also welcome to assist at our sale events by helping with set up, take down, and during the sale.  The net profit from our October 2026 sale will be disbursed via our established affiliate fund committees:    local educational programs, scholarships, leadership awards, literacy initiatives, and community outreach related to our mission and strategic plan. 

Advertising Fundraiser Opportunity

Area businesses, organizations, and individuals may participate in our 2026 Advertising Sponsorship Fundraiser Promotion. Your message will be displayed prominently on one of our sale tables for the 3 days of the sale. Applications will be available soon.
