AAUW Dearborn was recently awarded recognition for their efforts in supporting women and girls in STEM related occupations with a donation from Village Ford of Dearborn. In an effort to involve more women and girls in STEM related occupations, Village Ford enlisted our help in creating a program to allow shadowing of various roles within the dealership in STEM related roles.
AAUW Dearborn Reaches Her 90th Anniversary
The American Association of University Women-Dearborn (AAUW-D) celebrated its 90th year in September 2023. THE 90TH CELEBRATION WAS HELD AT PARK PLACE IN DEARBORN ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2023. Founded in 1933 as a branch of the National American Association of University Women, its roots reach back to a group of Dearborn women who, in 1927, met as the College Club. The legacy of AAUW-D follows the mission set forth by the national organization when it was founded in 1881. Through values “based on nonpartisanship that are fact-based, and imbedded in integrity, inclusion and intersectionality,” AAUW’s mission states it is “To advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education and advocacy.”(https://AAUW.org)
